Welcome!

We are in Australia! We are in Sydney right now, and will be in Cairns on Sunday. It is really fun here! Oh, by the way, me AND Michael will be typing entries this time! Okay, this is Amelia. Michael will say when he takes over. Australia is so cool! Everybody speaks English as you already know, so its really easy to communicate! We are staying in an Air Bnb, and it is in downtown Sydney. We love the beaches here, they are so pretty! Three days ago, we arrived in Sydney, jet-lagged and EXHAUSTED from our 14 1/2 hour plane ride! We landed at 8:10 AM, Sydney time. We needed something to do to keep us awake all throughout the day, so we walked around and saw the Sydney Opera house, and it is so beautiful! We also walked on the Sydney Harbour Bridge, which was tiring but fun! We ate breakfast at a cool cafe called Four Frogs Creperie, which was so yummy! We also went to an amusement park called Luna Park, which was so fun! We went on a lot of rides!

This is Michael. On Wednesday, we went to Bondi Beach. At Bondi Beach, the waves are really big and pretty I loved it!!! We played in the water at two different beaches. The waves were fun to play in. After that we got ice cream yum!! Then we went to the bus and we met some really nice people and they had some extra cricket tickets if we wanted them. We said “yes!” and went to the match. We watched the Sydney Sixers win against the Perth Scorchers. Then we went back to the Air BnB and went to sleep.

This is Amelia again! The next day, we went to another beach! It was called Manly Beach, and is really cool! It was hot out, so we spent the whole day there. We loved to jump through the waves, and it was so crowded, but it was fun. Then, the unexpected happened. I was in the water when all of a sudden I felt something cutting into my leg. I looked down at it, and saw what looked like a gray line with dots on it. I ripped it from my skin, and then realized it was clear and gray. I ran to my parents, and when I got to them we went to the nearest lifeguard. My leg was turning red. The lifeguard said it was a Blue Bottle sting. A Blue Bottle is a species of jellyfish, and they are not deadly at all. We then rinsed my leg in the showers at the beach for 5 minutes, then put ice on it for 20. It hurt, but I’m fine now. Then we got ice cream, and I got 2 scoops because of the sting. It was good!

This is Michael. Then we went back to the Air BnB. We stayed there for an hour or two, then we went to dinner at a resturant called Doyles, and it was really yummy. Then we took an Uber home and went to bed.
